All I want for Christmas

Hope your all feeling festive and you've got most of your Christmas shopping done. I'm almost finished and very excited about the festive season this year. Think it helps having an excited two year old running round singing 'Christmas pudding, Christmas pudding, nice and hot, nice and hot' (never heard this song prior to three weeks ago) and 'Jingle bells' at the top of his voice!!! Arh it is cute honestly.

Anyway back to some girly wish list which may or may not come true, well a girl can dream can't she.....

White converse Chuk Taylor boots, they look great with skinny jeans or leggins

Abigail Ahern Wistera steam, yes a little pricey but defo worth it and in one of her white jug vases too

Abigail Ahern retail day course, I so want to set up my own business one day with a very good friend of mine but we need more information, knowledge and inspiration. I think this would help....

Biker boots from Dune (sorry mum I know you have these boots and sorry for copying you, but think of it as falttery) and they will go very well with my Mulberry handbag that was a 30th birthday pressie and still love love love!

And finally the most important thing I would like in my life is to find the perfect home of our own- this will hopefully come true in 2013....although people who know us will know that I'm not going to hold my breath!

Night all and have a fabulous xmas if I don't post again before the big man visits us in 9 sleeps time

Winter warmers

Hey just a brief post this evening with some lovely winter styles I'm loving at the moment:

Love the all black, biker jacket with the blonde hair

Great jewellery with a simple black t-shirt

Love her fringe, need my hair to grow this long and then get the monochrome outfit.

Raspberry knit with belt and cool over the knee boots

And this is my favourite out of the lot- casual cool weekend look but still ultra stylish.

Paste it

So talking about wallpapers, now I am a huge fan however I only have wallpaper in our bedroom due to it being rented, so same old story is when we get our own place I will defo. be getting me some funky wallpapers......

Love the (above) white faux timber panel paper which adds elegance. Try Andrew Martin or similar.

The scrap wood timber paper (above) is fab too and adds colour and texture to a room. (A friend is thinking about may be putting one of these up in her hall way) try http://www.miki.uk.com/prod_list.asp?catid=140&Name=Scrapwood%20Wallpaper

Would be amazing to do this in a tiny cloakroom- wide monochrome stripes which is deceptive and make the room look bigger than it is, gold frames adds glamour. Try Designer Guild or Ebay!

This tin wallpaper can be bought from Rocket St George. Its fabulous and I'd have it in my house like a flash however my other half kindly bought me 4 American reclaimed tin tiles with a very similar design so I now have the real thing! Now all I have to do is work out how I'm going to display them......maybe a future post....

This is a cool retro one for a music room or boys room.

For cool children's wallpaper and fabrics try Paperboy they do some very cool, although a little pricey but the quality is good.

Or a more economical option is a DIY of your favourite book wallpaper.....funky!

This blog is great inspiration http://www.tentlondon.co.uk/news/trompe-l’œil-deborah-bowness?utm_source=Sign-Up.to&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=265238-July%3A+Create+GB%2C+New+Exhibitors+%26+Last+Application+2012+Deadline+%28Template+2%29

Too posh to pooch

Wow so I have had over 1000 page views now which is amazing- thanks for reading!

okay so this is a bit weird and especially as I don't have any pets but thought I would defo get me some of these accessories if i did http://www.freepeople.com/fp-pet-project/?cm_mmc=broadcast-_-Q32012-_-121104_10825_petproject-_-shop&cm_lm=

Especialy like the chunky leads, although a cheaper option for this is a horse rope lead, almost exactly the same and come is so many colours.

If we were to get a pet it would have to be a beagle. They are so cute but believe they can have a bit of handful........

Happy furry love

Apologies for the lack of posts.

I am loving faux fur coats at the moment and got myself one (see below)

Its sooooo warm and was amazing on Bonfire night, stood in the freezing cold for three hours! Although there was quite allot of rain too so kinda ended up looking like a wet dog......but still very toasty!

One of these babies will glam up any outfit and if you choose the right one add a vintage touch. I feel amazing in mine even if I just have skinny black jeans and convers on!

Happy furry love

nothing kinky - hand chains and hand clamps

Sorry for the lack of blogs guys, the last few weeks have gone by in a blur what with starting my new job and going away etc etc.

Since seeing Caggie on MIC (who by the way I think has fabulous effortless style) with her hand chain, I have been dying to get one. So for Christmas 2011 this one was on my list, it was from FCUK, which was the only one I could find at the time!!! I love it so much and since then I have been seeing more and more appearing on the high street...

So when I made a little detour trip to Topshop Oxford street a few weeks ago, I came out with not one, not two, but three additions to my accessory collection! I absolutely love them all and they finish off an outfit perfectly! I am especially into the hand cuff which is also a cool and unusual jewellery piece:

So next one on my wish list is this stunning one with black stones.....well I can keep wishing!

Happy Monday evening

Alfresco movie

Short and sweet today, but a fabulous idea.......such an easy way to turn it into movie time but with a slight twist 'Alfresco' style (if we ever get some good weather!)! Hang a white sheet up and use a projector, lots of blankets and floor cushions and candles, would be such a special evening! One day I will do this for all you lovely friends! Imagine girly night of Sex in the City & Dirty Dancing...bring it on. night night my lovelies

Black & white stripes

Thought today was going to be another rainy one but was pleasantly surprised and therefore our trip to Kew gardens was most enjoyable and sunny!

No real explanation for this blog but was very taken with the below gorgeous wedges and thought I would look into other monochrome stripy things (although technically these fabulous wedges are black and neural canvas but not going to let that spoil my fun). I'm glad I didn't have a pair of these on while walking around Kew this afternoon!

This stunning tweed coat with black and white lining & fab collar is from jennysweetnam.com. Might add this to my ever growing birthday list......

Smart casual yet sophisticated outfit

Love this bold monochrome stripe statement in a small room, would look really cool in a study.

Would also be brilliant for a wedding theme-very sophisticated and stylish.

Strike a Poise

I have formed an obsession with the old anglepoise lamp, from floor to ceiling, desk to bedside. My love was boosted by a trip to The Potted Pig restaurant in Cardiff a few months ago (well worth a visit by the way as the food is lovely-I can fully recommend the Duck Hash yummie) where they have them dotted on the walls creating a calm and sophisticated mood (see below):

I have been trying to figure out why I like them so much and I have come to the conclusions is because they are so versatile. They can be used absolutely everywhere and in nearly every style of room you can think of.

Wall fixed lights can be used as bedside, desk lights or as displayed in The Potted Pig dotted around rooms to make an elegant industrial feel. In the above monochrome image there are Bestlites which are excellently designed and of the highest quality.

Vintage lamps are fab, they add character and an eclectic feel to a room.

This is a very cool Anglepoise chandelier- spider alien!

Celing pendent light and can be used over tables or as bedside lamps which is what I would love to do in our bedroom or guest bedroom...one day...

Floor lamps used in more a formal way, but fit perfectly with a Scandinavian or classical style.

Adding fun splashes of colour to a room makes an eye catching statement with these beauties. Abigail Ahern also has one of the oversize floor light but in a flock blue!

This fabric I just had to add in, it's from PatTheCat Etsy

At the moment Achica are doing a sale on Anglepoise lighting-just wish I could buy one.....if I have the spare cash and room I would most certainly be purchasing the over sized floor lamp in grey or orange

p.s Carole hope you like, this one was for you after our conversation on Saturday!
